Bea Kesch is the alias of Beatriz Keller, an Illustrator & Storyteller from Mexico City, based in Dresden, Germany.

Her work showcases her love for stories, folklore, and the sense of mystery and whimsy found in nature.

As is the case with most creative people, the journey into my current style had many divergent paths of trying out new things and sourcing inspiration from diverse and unlikely places. What I've always loved are highly saturated color schemes with high contrast and stylized images with a lot of texture that have a dream-like sense of wonder and whimsy. Ultimately, I want my art to convey a story, and have the style of it be in service of that story, to tell it in the best way possible. I remain on a constant quest for improvement and change.

Multimedia Workshops

Even though my current portfolio leans into editorial, particularly picture books and children's books illustrations, I am incredibly passionate about traditional and so-called old-school animation. As I began to pursue art professionally and started my studies, this was my main focus, and even though it has now shifted, it's always an immense joy and incredibly fulfilling to teach these almost forgotten art forms to a younger generation.

Comic Creation

By learning the ins and outs of comic creation, students also learn the basics of story construction, framing, composition, and traditional drawing techniques, which form the basis of other visual mediums.

Pixel Art Animation

Kids who are passionate about video games particularly love this course. It creates a wonderful opportunity to connect with and teach them about the history of their hobby, as well as give them skills and knowledge to deepen their appreciation for this art form.

Claymation

One of the very first forms of animation and special effects, from way back in the silent film era.
